UBC Media vil i dag demonstrere for aller første gang hvordan den nye
nedlastingsteknikken virker.
inntektsmulighetene i denne teknologien. De har planer om å investere nærmere 5 millioner kroner i
dette prosjektet. "Dette vil være revolusjonere måten folk kjøper musikk på", sier direktør Simon Cole i UBC Media.
Pressemelding fra UBC Media:
"UBC Media Group plc ("UBC") is pleased to announce that the first live
demonstration of its new digital music download service will take place today at
9am at the Great Eastern Hotel, London EC2M 7QN in front of an audience of
investors and analysts.
The new service will enable digital radio listeners directly to download tracks
to a digital radio device while they listen to them. UBC's subsidiary, Unique
Interactive, has pioneered this cutting-edge technology which allows consumers
to purchase music from radio stations in real time.
The demonstration will show how consumers will be able to use a mobile phone,
fitted with a digital radio chip, to buy music from a radio station. UBC will
display the user interface, alongside the concurrent server activity, simulating
how the service will work once up and running.
UBC is uniquely placed to develop and deliver a music download service due its
ownership of data capacity on the MXR regional multiplexes, the extensive
partnerships it has already put in place with radio stations across the UK and
its leadership in the digital radio software market.
UBC has invested £175,000 in the development of the service to date and will
invest a further £225,000 in the balance of this financial year. It estimates
the market for downloading music from radio stations will be worth £14m within 4
years. The service will operate on a subscriber model, with revenue shares with
partners already negotiated, prior to an expected launch in Summer 2006.
Simon Cole, Chief Executive of UBC Media said:
"The ability for consumers to buy and download music as they listen to it is
hugely compelling, and the realisation of this concept proves that the future
for digital radio lies with interactive services. The digital download service
will revolutionise the way people listen to and buy music".
