The podcasting site Acast launches in Norway, a year after the startup in Sweden. Acast is a kind of "Spotify" for podcasters and wants to sell
advertising on popular podcasts.
New Music? Radio is still number one
Radio is still the most important source for new music, according to a survey YouGov has made for the music rights organisation Tono. 36 % says they discovered
new music first on a radio station. Only in the age group 12 to 17 years are streaming services more important.
Radio Cinema is live in Oslo
A new event which combines podcasts and listeners have been succesfully launched in Oslo. A group of people come together and listens to podcasts, much like a "cinema".
More DAB in Northern Norway
NRK has promised that more DAB transmitters will come in 2016 in the northernmost county of Finnmark. The county council has asked for the fm shutdown to be delayed
because of what they call insufficent DAB coverage in Finnmark.
Listening will decrease in 2017
An expert from TNS Gallups, which produces the official listening figures in Norway, predicts a decline in listening when the national broadcasters turn off their FM transmitters.
However, Knut-Arne Futsæter thinks that digital radio has a great future and that the listening will increase later.
