The C.E.O and Chief Editor for Bauer Media in Norway, Lasse Kokvik, has stepped down as from today, Bauer Media announced today.
The resignation follows a longer period of economic losses and lower listening figures for Bauer and other national radio operators in Norway.
Bauer Media has not given a specific reason for Kokviks departure, but thanked him for six years of service, a period where he has lead the company through a digital switchover and the launch of several new radio stations.
From now on, Jim Receveur will lead both the Norwegian and the Danish part of Bauers radio empire. In Norway, Bauer has always been the smaller of the national radio operators, while Bauer is the major commercial radio company in Denmark, as well as in Sweden.
Only a few months ago, Bauer dramatically cut the staff of Radio 1, which was launched last year as a radio for millenials, but have never been able to reach a significant crowd.
