What started out as a an article in the Norwegian newspaper VG about a police investigation of a network of pedophiles has now become a six episode podcast in cooperation with CBC, Canadian Broadcasting Company.
"Hunting Warhead" will be released in October and was presented on Radiodager (Radiodays Norway) last week. Håkon Høydahl from VG told us about how he worked on this article for a long time and he had lots of material that was not used in the newspaper.
The story was about a huge international police operation to crack down a network of pedophiles in several countries. One of the main suspect was a young canadian with the nickname "Warhead". Høydahl contacted CBC and they were very interested in the unused material.

Producer Chris Oke says that he very quickly became interested in this story. Although it was international news, there was not a lot about it in the canadian press. The podcast tells the story about the investigation and also tries to explain the background of "Warhead", Ben Faulkner.
Both Faulkner and his family and friends was willing to participate in the podcast. Presenter Daemon Fairless says that it is important to get to to know the people you interview and understand them. And always make them feel that they have a choice to participate (or not).
"Hunting Warhead" will be released on VG+ on October 18th, two weeks later it will be available on other platforms.
