The governmental company Nye Veier (New Roads), who is responsible for building new main roads in Norway, has experienced a problem with moose on a new section of E18 between Arendal and Tvedestrand, in the south of Norway.
In just two months five mooses have lost their life after walking on to the newly built road. New Roads consider some emergency measurers and one of them is installing huge loudspeakers and use NRK P2 to scare the moose away, according to the NRK website.
It turns out moose don`t like the sound of people talking and the Norwegian Broadcast Company NRK has a perfect channel for that, P2. This channel broadcast a combination of serious news and documentaries, combined with varied music like classical and jazz music
- We cannot shut down the road, but we may install loudspeakers in some areas, says Tordis Vandeskog, chief of development in Nye Veier to NRK. - It is very nice that P2 can save the nature, says Tone Donald, editor of P2, and underlines that P2s mission is to explore and provoke.
