From January, podcasts are included in the statistics for sales of radio advertising, "Mediebarometeret", published by the association of media agencies, Mediebyråforeningen.
Radio and podcasts are combined to form the Audio (LYD) category. So far this year, sales of audio advertising have increased by 9.6% compared to the same period last year.
From January to March media agencies have distributed audio advertising for NOK 93,1 million, radio and podcasts. Last year this figure was NOK 83,8 million.
Merete Mandt Larsen, daglig leder of Mediebyråforeningen says: - We are going to follow the development of podcast. This is something all the media agencies agree upon.
The total turnover of advertising was up 2 percent in the first quarter of 2021, compared to Q1, 2020. March 2021 alone saw an increase of 19,7 percent, due to the lockdown began in March last year.
