Bauer Media has secured the rights to NRJ in Norway, after the split with P4-gruppen, which now launches their own hit music channel, P12 Hitmix.
Bauer Media will collaborate with the French media group NRJ Group regarding the channel NRJ in Norway. This happens after the P4 group earlier this month announced that they are terminating the agreement with NRJ and instead focusing on their own channel, P12 Hitmix.
- This is an exciting opportunity for us and proof that Bauer Media is a preferred partner in radio and audio media, not only in Norway, but in the entire Nordic region, says Jim Receveur, managing director of Bauer Media Norway, in a press release.
NRJ is one of Europe's largest radio channels, based in France. In Sweden and Finland, Bauer has already collaborated with NRJ for several years. The agreement means that Bauer Media will now be able to offer NRJ as part of its radio portfolio in Norway, which further strengthens the company's position as a leader in the audio market.
NRJ, which is known for offering hit music and entertainment aimed at a young and music-interested audience, has established itself as one of the most popular brands in radio internationally. NRJ will be an attractive addition to Bauer Media's existing radio channels.
- Several years of good cooperation with Bauer Media in Sweden and Finland now gives us a comprehensive partnership with the largest commercial radio player in the Nordics, says Richard Mazeret, CEO International Operations, NRJ Group.
With this agreement, Bauer Media positions itself even more strongly in the battle for young adult listeners, a target group that is highly sought after by advertisers. Bauer Media will continue NRJ's profile and music format, as listeners know and like.
- We are looking forward to developing and continuing NRJ in Norway and offering listeners an even stronger selection of music and entertainment, says editor-in-chief at Bauer Media, Kristoffer Vangen.
