Norway has been on the air for a hundred years and it has not gone unnoticed by Norway Post. Now they have launched four unique stamps with motifs from radio and broadcasting.

From Lalla Carlsen on the crystal radio, via King Haakon's voice from London during the war, to Trond-Viggo Torgersen on TV and Else Kåss Furuseth in the podcast universe –

– Broadcasting has followed us through ups, downs and great moments of community. It has made us laugh, learn and cry – and now it has its own place in stamp history. This is a release with both nostalgia, seriousness and a twinkle in the eye, says Halvor Fasting, stamp director at Norway Post, in a press release.

The four motifs take us on a journey through the history of broadcasting:

  • Crystal radio and Lalla Carlsen – the symbol of radio's early beginnings.
  • Illegal radio and King Haakon VII – the voice that defied censorship and gave hope from London.
  • TV camera and Trond-Viggo Torgersen – public informant and television's popular superstar.
  • USB microphone and Else Kåss Furuseth – today's podcast queen, with storytelling right in your ear.

Together they tell a story about how we have shared moments for a hundred years – from living rooms full of neighbors in front of the radio to young people on the subway with podcasts in their ears.
