- The P4 group is very proud to be able to start the new year by launching yet another new radio channel. Last year we launched P11 Dance, and this year we are launching P12 Hitmix. Our channel lineup is thus complete with the nine radio channels P4, P5 Hits, P6 Rock, P7 Klem, P8 Pop, P9 Retro, P10 Country, P11 Dance and P12 Hitmix, says program editor Anders Opsahl.

He says that the philosophy behind the new channel is to give young radio listeners the best and freshest hit music in large quantities. The slogan "new hit music first" indicates this. - With the latest launch, we are taking full control of our own product both on the air and in social media, and the new channel will be an even clearer commitment to our own identity and a youth format with the very best hit music, says Opsahl.

The P4 group already has P5 Hits, which many thinks of as a channel aimed at young people, but the main difference between P5 and P12 is that P12 Hitmix is CHR-formatted with a clear focus on new hit music. The channel is aimed at younger listeners and with a slightly higher tempo than P5, which is a Hot AC channel.

Kristine Arntzen Myren and Sander Zakharia are two of the presenters who you can hear on the P12 Hitmix. DJ Alex Moreno will also contribute every morning with "P12 Hitmix minimix" which will spice up the morning air with DJ mixing and a party atmosphere.

The station has also received jingles that fit the profile: - When it comes to jingles, with good help from Wisebuddah, we have produced a fresh and suitable jingle package for the channel. Here, Aleksander Lilleøien, Bjørn-Tore Sviggum and Sander Zakharia have worked closely with Wise to find the perfect sound for P12 Hitmix, Opsahl tells radionytt.no.

To kickstart the channel and mark the new name, P12 Hitmix will play 12,000 songs in a row without commercial interruptions. The channel will also give away 12,000 kroner every day for 12 days.
